We are mostly regular guys who like hanging out, but we definitely skew towards college-educated professionals under 40 who are socialable but want more consistent interactions in the work-from-home era.
Our personalities and interests are extremely varied - some like to play chess, some like to post up at the bar, and some have climbed mountains. What we share is a desire for genuine connection, good vibes, and a break from the usual online noise. If you're respectful and open-minded, you'll fit right in.
To quote someone who commented on our launch:
"Gender issues are hard to discuss, but I'll give it a shot at the risk of generating controversy. Personally, I love the idea of trying to build social events for guys. There are already tons of coed spaces and events (see most events planned on this site, most meetups, and basically all bars and other public spaces). Creating a space for men to connect is a cool experiment.
Further, there are occasional downsides to co-ed. For single men, they can often be oddly focused on meeting women to date, or at least trying to impress them. Just puts a general barrier to connection between guys. For men in relationships, they may be focused on their partner and less likely to open up or connect with other men. Obviously all of this is from a hetero-normative perspective which has its own issues, so take my rambles with a grain of salt and grant me the benefit of the doubt."
